Gear

My gear has changed alot since I started to collect guitar stomp boxes. Here's a photo and list of my old rig.

Furman Pedalboard with power source
EB Volume Pedal
Vox Wah
Line 6 DL-4 Delay
Boss DS-1
Boss DD-5
FS5U Tap Tempo
EHX Holy Grail
BBE Sonic Stomp
Boss TU-2 Tuner
TS808- Tube Screamer
Phase 100

VOX AC30CC
Gibson Les Paul Electric Guitar

I honestly enjoyed the stomp boxes but I couldn't get a clean sound from the rig to go into my audio interface when I recorded. I used an SM57 and Rode NT1A to mic up the electric but it was still missing that sweet spot. So, for this new album I decided to sell all my gear and convert to the Line 6 POD X3 Live multi-effects pedalboard.

Here's a picture of my rig now:

In signal order:
Guitar
Boss TU-2 Tuner
Boss DD-5 Delay
FS-5U Tap Tempo
POD X3 Live
Audio Interface

Yes it's an ampless setup. I only use an amp for stage volume or whenever someone needs to use it. I usually plug the POD X3 straight into the house. It has its amp models and effects in there already so I'm good to go. For those who don't know, this X3 Live is a beast! I've said it before and I'll say it again, "You can modify your sound to the max!" I also love this pedalboard because I can use it as a plug-in for my recording software. The sound you hear from the record will be the exact same thing when I play it live. Pretty cool stuff.

I still don't have an acoustic and still bumming acoustic guitars from my local buddies:)

Will write about my recording gear next time...
